In its 67th edition, as last September, the fashion shows took place in hall 14.1 of IFEMA-Feria de Madrid, and in other locations in the city.  IFEMA greeted 53,675 visitors at the fashion shows.
The event programme included fashion shows and presentations from 48 designers and brands, in addition to 5 parades from the off programme. In this edition, big names in Spanish fashion such as Pedro del Hierro, Oliva, Leandro Cano and Moisés Nieto returned to the catwalk, while brands like La Condesa, Duarte and creative duos Oteyza and Shoop Clothing participated for the first time.

Madrid, 13 February 2018.- Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, the great Spanish fashion stage, organised by IFEMA, enjoyed its 67th performance by opening the international fashion show calendar and supporting this wonderful creative moment in Spanish fashion.  It took place from 24 to 29 January, a few weeks before its usual dates in recent years, and kept the formula of combining shows at IFEMA-Feria de Madrid with other performances throughout the city.
The wealth and creative diversity displayed in the collections of the 48 participating designers demonstrated the great moment Spanish fashion is experiencing. Names like Maria Escoté, Palomo Spain, Alvarno, Juan Vidal, Jorge Vázquez, Teresa Helbig, Ana Locking, The 2nd Skin, ManeMané, Ulises Mérida, Garcia Madrid, Andrés Sardá, Leandro Cano and Devota&Lomba were back to project their own unique point of view in their new proposals, the results of their creative talent and capacity for innovation.
For this performance, IFEMA decided to retain the catwalk schedule format which was so well received in September. Fashion shows alternated between hall 14.1 at Feria de Madrid and other locations in the city centre, thus making Madrid one of the world’s big fashion capitals. Most of the shows took place in hall 14.1 at IFEMA from 25 to 29 January, and each day ended with fashion shows and events at other locations in the city, by invitation from the designers and brands. IFEMA welcomed 53,675 visitors at the fashion shows.
On January 24, Duarte, Pilar Dalbat, Jesús Lorenzo, Oteyza and Pedro del Hierro collections were presented in different parts of the city, by direct invitation from each brand.  Some of the biggest news of the season was the return of Pedro del Hierro to the catwalks after 15 years of absence. He celebrated his 30 years in the fashion world, with a show at the Railway Museum with Nacho Aguayo as brand creative director.
On Wednesday 24 January, Facebook/Instagram also hosted an event in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid with the support of Madrid Capital de Moda workshop "The New Showcase for Fashion", which took place at the Caja de Música in the Palacio de Cibeles.  At this event, leading industry representatives found out first hand how social media platforms have become the focus for conversation around fashion, serving as inspiration and forming part of the consumer purchase cycle.
