Larger-than-Life Inflatable Rugby Ball to Make Full-Blown Splash in Victoria Harbour for Hong Kong Sevens

To kick off the annual Hong Kong Sevens festivities with a bang and more than a splash, the Hong Kong Tourism Board has arranged for a larger-than-life-sized 25-metre inflatable rugby ball to float through Victoria Harbour this April.

And that’s not all — the 2017 champions, the South African Sevens team, went along for the ride. Known by fans as the “Blitzbokke” (or “lightning rugby”), the 2017 victors were invited by the Hong Kong Tourism Board to pose alongside the gigantic 10-storey-tall rugby ball for an epic photo op for the next viral social media sensation. The South African team is also the reigning World Rugby Sevens Series Champion and Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist. It is currently leading this year’s Sevens Series, after a strong showing in the first six tournaments.

From April 3 to 8, spectators can catch the epically proportioned rugby ball float through picturesque Victoria Harbour and marvel at the full-blown wonder in person. Be sure to have your camera or phone ready!
