Celebrities walk the runway to support the 15th annual
American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women®
Red Dress Collection® 2019


Hosted by Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi and with musical performances by Eve and The War and Treaty
WHO:This year’s Red Dress Collection® fashion show, hosted by Padma Lakshmi (Top Chef), featured 22 celebrities including Amy Robach (ABC News/Good Morning America),Ashleigh Murray (Riverdale), Beau Garrett (Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce, The Good Doctor), Becky G (singer), Nikki and Brie Bella (WWE Wrestling Pros, Total Bellas on E!),Bo Derek (10, Tommy Boy), Brooke Burke (model and fitness icon), Danica McKellar(The Wonder Years), Dorit Kemsley (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, designer),Elisabeth Rohn (Joy, American Hustle), Jordyn Woods (model, Instagram personality),Laurie Hernandez (gymnast), Nathalie Kelley (Dynasty, The Fast and the Furious), Nicole Ari Parker (Empire, Boogie Nights), Rosanna Arquette (Pulp Fiction, Ray Donovan),Sheinelle Jones (NBC/TODAY), Sherri Shepherd (30 Rock, TV host), Skai Jackson(Jessie, Bunk’D) and Susan Lucci (All My Children).

Americana/soul duo The War and Treaty opened the show with ”Hearts” and “Healing Tide” and Grammy award winning rapper, singer, songwriter and actress Eve closed out the evening with some of her biggest hits: “Who’s That Girl,” “Rich Girl,” “Blow Ya Mind,” and “Tambourine”.

For the first time ever, “America’s Top Dog,” Best in Show at the 2018 Westminster Dog Show, Flynn the Bichon Frise walked the runway with actress Bo Derek.

Congenital heart defect survivor and Macy’s colleague Emily Straley accompanied by her mother, Kathleen, also hit the runway. The mother-daughter pair proceeded the introduction of Go Red for Women’s newest campaign called Watch Me, which focuses on engaging Millennial women in modeling their healthy habits for their mothers.

MORE:The American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women® Red Dress Collection® is an exclusive event where fashion, entertainment and philanthropy collide with the singular purpose of shining a light on women’s heart health. This was the 15th annual event, a collaboration between the Association and the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) serves as Go Red’s national marquee event by bringing together drivers of pop-culture in fashion, music and entertainment and leveraging their social systems to reach more women, younger audiences and diverse networks.

The show featured two looks from designers in the not-for-profit, independently-run Fashion Incubator Programs housed in Macy’s: Madelange Laroche from the Philadelphia Fashion Incubator and Rakan Shams Aldeen from the Chicago Fashion Incubator. Sheinelle Jones wore an elegant, off-the-shoulder, embellished mermaid gown with a removable overskirt by Magdelange Laroche and Elisabeth Rohm wore a an architectural column gown with an asymmetrical neckline by Rakan Shams Aldeen.

While nearly 80 percent of cardiac events can be prevented, cardiovascular diseases continue to be a woman’s greatest health threat, claiming the lives of 1 in 3 women and taking more lives than all forms of cancer combined.

Celebrities gather in NYC to support American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women’s Red Dress Collection™ 
presented by Macy’s 


WHO:                          This year’s show, hosted by Marisa Tomei (My Cousin Vinny/The Handmaid’s Tale), featured 17 celebrities including Adrienne Houghton (The Real), CeCe Winans (Grammy award-winning gospel singer), Elisabeth Röhm (Law and Order), Ginger Zee (Chief Meteorologist, ABC News), Grace Helbig (television and YouTube personality), Kate Walsh (Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice), Kathy Ireland (supermodel-turned-mogul), Lea Salonga (Broadway actress and voice of two Disney princesses), Liz Hernandez (Access Hollywood and E! News), Lynn Whitfield (Greenleaf), Marion Ross (Happy Days), Maye Musk (model, dietitian, and latest CoverGirl), Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina the Teenage Witch), Niki Taylor (supermodel), Rachel Lindsay (The Bachelorette), Tatyana Ali (Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) and Zuri Hall (E! This year, celebrities made a commitment to women’s heart health and supported Go Red For Women’s efforts to raise awareness of heart disease in women. Founded by the now federal convening partner The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute’s The Heart Truth®, the exclusive event reminds women of the need to protect their heart health and act in the fight against heart disease and stroke in women.

Walking in this year’s Red Dress Collection were two heart disease survivors – Macy’s employee Karen A. Hill from Washington, D.C., who is living with cardiomyopathy, as well as AHA national spokeswoman and Go Red For Women “Real Women” Lilly Rocha from Pasadena, CA, who survived a heart attack at the age of 37.

The show featured three looks from designers in the not-for-profit, independently-run Fashion Incubator Programs housed at Macy’s: Tanesha Prunty from the Chicago Fashion Incubator, Lia Larrea from Fashion Incubator San Francisco and Dur Doux from the D.C. Fashion Incubator. Wearing these designs were Tatyana Ali in Tanesha Prunty, Ginger Zee in Lia Larrea and Elisabeth Röhm in Dur Doux.

Makeup was provided by Shar Sinclair, hair styling was provided by Giovanni Giuntoli, jewelry was provided by CAROLEE and nails were provided by maniorpedi.com.

Cardiovascular diseases kill one woman about every 80 seconds and about 80 percent of cardiovascular diseases may be prevented. Heart disease and stroke may be prevented by working together and understanding your family health history, knowing your numbers and making simple lifestyle changes.
