Yesterday evening’s highlight was the arrival of Father Christmas, who can be found daily at KaDeWe between 1 December and the Christmas holidays. The St. Konrad choir provided the festive musical accompaniment. The Christmas elves, who were the stars of the Christmas campaign during the renovations at KaDeWe, Alsterhaus and Oberpollinger last year, will be the focus of Christmas in the KaDeWe Group again in 2017.
While the motto last year was ‘Nothing’s possible without the hard-working elves’, this year the elves will be celebrating Christmas on well-deserved holidays. Their adventures can be seen in the stores’ window galleries and include thrilling sledging, enthusiastic snowman building, relaxing steam baths in the washtub and night-time gazing at the Northern Lights for hours on end.
It’s all about joy, amusement and a healthy dose of humour again this year. Observers are whisked away into a winter wonderland in the mountains, with the shop windows preparing them for the world of Christmas that awaits them inside.
Specially developed for KaDeWe, Alsterhaus and Oberpollinger, the elves are available in a variety of sizes exclusively at these three stores, meaning everyone can hang their very own elf on the tree.
Once again, Germany’s most renowned and luxurious department stores have created a unique Christmas atmosphere, making them a popular destination in Berlin, Hamburg and Munich during the Christmas season.
