Desde hace 100 años no había ingresado un menor de edad en elMaster de Math for Teaching: es la primera mexicana con esa condición. El plan de la joven sobredotada es contribuir a revertir el atraso que tiene México en la enseñanza de las matemáticas. Planea concluir el posgrado en tan solo un año: se graduará en mayo de 2020. Es la psicóloga más joven del mundo. Fue Premio de la Juventud CDMX 2018 y ya tiene dos certificaciones en Harvard University (Educación Diferenciada y en Técnicas de Aprendizaje Significativo), entre muchos más logros académicos.

Con tan solo 17 años de edad, la mexicana Dafne Almazán Anaya fue admitida en el Master Math for Teaching que imparte la Universidad de Harvard. Se trata de un hecho sin precedentes, ya que Dafne no sólo es la primera mexicana menor de edad admitida en esa maestría: en el posgrado no había ingresado ningún estudiante menor de 18 años desde hace 100 años. Se trata de una formación académica que se enfoca en técnicas y modelos para la enseñanza de esta ciencia exacta, con lo cual, Dafne Almazán Anaya podrá desarrollar, en un futuro muy cercano, el talento matemático en México con las estrategias diseñadas en Harvard y así cumplir una de sus metas principales: comenzar a revertir el atraso educativo del país en matemáticas: "Mi plan es diseñar y trabajar con modelos para la enseñanza de Matemáticas en niños diagnosticados con sobredotación intelectual. Ese es precisamente uno de los enfoques del posgrado", sostuvo Dafne Almazán Anaya. La joven sobredotada planea graduarse en mayo de 2020, es decir, a los 18 años de edad, con lo cual se convertirá en uno de los pocos seres humanos que han obtenido este grado en la Universidad de Harvard, a tan corta edad y en tan poco tiempo. Cabe recordar la vertiginosa carrera de Dafne Almazán Anaya. Ha participado en diversos foros nacionales e internacionales como el Congreso Nacional de la American Education Research Association (AERA) que se llevó a cabo en San Antonio, Texas y en Empoderando Mujeres 2017 en la Ciudad de México. La joven investigadora también tiene dos certificaciones en Harvard University (Educación Diferenciada y en Técnicas de Aprendizaje Significativo). Además de los logros académicos descritos, también fue considerada como una de las mujeres más poderosas de México (2016) y el año pasado obtuvo el Premio de la Juventud Ciudad de México por su aporte en materia académica y científica. De niña fue parte de la primera generación del exitoso Programa de Potenciación Intelectual del Centro de Atención al Talento (CEDAT), el organismo más importante en América Latina en diagnóstico y seguimiento psicopedagógicos de niños sobredotados, al cual ingresó a los seis años de edad. Dafne tiene el récord en México de haber ingresado a una licenciatura: lo hizo a los 10 años. Se tituló a los 13 años como licenciada en psicología con lo cual obtuvo el reconocimiento internacional de ser la Psicóloga más Joven del Mundo.

CAMBRIDGE, MA (January 26^th, 2017) – The Hasty Pudding Theatricals, the oldest theatrical organization in the United States, welcomed Oscar winning actress, OCTAVIA SPENCER (who was nominated for a second Oscar earlier this week), to Harvard University, where she received her Woman of the Year award.

The Woman of the Year is the Hasty Pudding Theatricals oldest honor, bestowed annually on performers who have made lasting and impressive contributions to the world of entertainment. Established in 1951, Woman of the Year has been given to many notable and talented entertainers, including Meryl Streep, Debbie Reynolds, Mary Tyler Moore, Julia Roberts, Jodie Foster, Dame Helen Mirren, and most recently Kerry Washington.

The Woman of the Year festivities, presented by RELATED, began with a parade through the streets of Cambridge. The weather was uncharacteristically warm for Cambridge in January. Following the parade, the Hasty Pudding Theatricals hosted a celebratory roast for the actress at Farkas Hall, the Hasty Pudding’s historic home in the heart of Harvard Square since 1888. Before she was able to receive her pot, Ms. Spencer had to work her way off the “naughty list”, which she was placed on due to her roles in the Bad Santa movies. First she referenced her infamous pie scene fromThe Help by choosing one of three people to pie in the face. Her choice was a Hasty Pudding member dressed as Presidential Counselor, Kellyanne Conway. She also proved her fealty to her alma mater, Auburn University, by tackling an archrival, University of Alabama fan onstage. Due to her fondness for pink nail polish, she was charged with giving another Cast member a makeover with an oversize tube of nail polish. Finally, she rounded out her roast by singing a duet of James Brown’s "I Got You (I Feel Good)" in reference to her role in Get on Up.

A press conference followed the presentation, which was the first to be live-streamed free and to the public via the Hasty Pudding’s Facebook (www.facebook.com/thehastypudding), as it happened. To close out the festivities, the Hasty Pudding Theatricals members performed several musical numbers from the group’s upcoming 169^th production, Casino Evil.

The Hasty Pudding Theatricals will celebrate their 51^st Man of the Year, RYAN REYNOLDS, on Friday February 3^rd, 2017. The traditional roast and Pudding Pot ceremony will take place at Farkas Hall, as well as the Opening night of HPT 169: Casino Evil.
