La 22a ceremonia de los Latin Grammy 2021 se realizará el 18 de noviembre en el MGM Grand Arena de Las Vegas, Nevada, y será trasmitida por canal 5 a las 20:00 horas. La noche anual que honra los mejores lanzamientos musicales de la música latina creada desde el 1 de junio de 2020 hasta el 31 de mayo de 2021.

Los Latín Grammy 2021 serán conducidos por Carlos Rivera, Ana Brenda Contreras y Roselyn Sánchez y contará con las actuaciones musicales de Cristina Aguilera, Pablo Alborán, Bad Bunny, Alejandro Fernández, Juanes, Rubén Albarrán & Meme del Real, Maná, Mike Towers, Rubén Blades, Ozuna, Danna Paola, La Arrolladora Banda El Limón, Calibre 50 y Banda el Recodo, entre otros.

Las 12 categorías más importantes podrán ser vistas durante la emisión, que tendrá una duración de dos horas. Esta edición de los Latin Grammy contará con nuevas nominaciones, testimoniales y mini documentales de la música latina, en la que también se recordará a las figuras que ya no están con nosotros, pero dejaron un gran legado musical.

Entre los artistas nominados este año, se encuentran Pablo Alborán, Rauw Alejandro, Marc Anthony, Camilo, Bad Bunny, Juanes, Natalia Lafourcade, J Balvin, Ricardo Montaner, Maluma, Andrés Calamaro, Pedro Capó, Danna Paola, Reik, Karol G, Ozuna, Guaynna, Café Tacvba, Los Ángeles Azules, Banda El Recodo, Calibre 50, Mon Laferte, Lasso, Akapellah, Zoé, Adan Jodorowsky, entre otros.

La entrega de los Premios Latin Grammy 2021 será transmitida por el 5.

Las Batallas es el disco más personal de la banda hasta el momento

Todas las canciones contarán con un video propio

Chesko, con una potencia visual, lírica y musical es el nuevo sencillo

Presentarán Las Batallas en el Teatro Metropólitan con un particular concepto escénico y audiovisual

Después de su exitosa etapa vivida con Moctezuma, que los llevó a importantes escenarios y grandes festivales alrededor del continente americano, además de una nominación en 2015 al GRAMMY Latino por el Mejor Video Musical con Huitzil, y por Mejor Álbum de Música Alternativa, Porter ha regresado al estudio de grabación para plasmar sus nuevas canciones en un disco que se llama Las Batallas que se estrenó este viernes 24 de mayo. 

Las Batallas es el cuarto disco de larga duración de Porter y se grabó en su natal Jalisco, de este material se lanzó previamente la parte 1 llamada Las Batallas del Tiempo en el que se incluyeron los sencillos Pájaros, ¿Qué es el amor?, Bandera e Himno Eterno; estos sencillos se presentaron con un concierto en el Teatro Metropólitan el pasado 28 de noviembre con localidades agotadas.

Podremos escuchar a David Velazco en la voz principal, Fernando de la Huerta en la guitarra y los sintetizadores, Diego Rangel en el bajo y los sintetizadores y a Víctor Valverde en la guitarra y coros. Este disco, Las Batallas, fue mezclado por Dave McNair, quién también ha trabajado con artistas de la talla de David Bowie, Bob Dylan,  Beck, Sum 41, Maroon 5, por mencionar algunas; además del venezolano Héctor Castillo, ingeniero de sonido que se destaca por su trabajo con Gustavo Cerati, Björk y Roger Waters.

El arte del álbum fue realizado por el artista visual e ilustrador jalisciense Iñigo; para cada una de las canciones se realizó una ilustración que busca mostrar la emoción/sentimiento que desprende cada una de las canciones. La portada conjuga todos estos elementos creando además un mundo onírico que conforma las batallas completas en cuya imagen se ven los íconos de cada una de las canciones.

Junto con el álbum, se libera también el video CHESKO, el séptimo video de esta nueva etapa y donde vemos una serie de humanos postapocalípticos que buscan la libertad en un sistema esclavizante y opresor.

Porter estrenará en vivo Las Batallas, con un concepto visual y escenográfico especial denominado "Las Batallas del agua" hecho para la ocasión el 09 de agosto en el Teatro Metropólitan, los boletos ya están a la venta en Sistema Ticketmaster y taquillas del lugar.

Berlin, November 8, 2017 – As part of the exclusive Dinner Night presented by Volkswagen, the US American Jazz and Soul singer Gregory Porter brings his sound to Berlin. Porter will perform excerpts of his new Blue Note album “Nat King Cole & Me” to the an  exclusive audience including many prominent guests.

Gregory Porter has been awarded two Grammys and one ECHO Jazz Award and is known as the most important talent of contemporary Jazz and Soul. He is a well-received guest at renowned festivals like “Elbjazz” Festival, Blue Note Jazz Festival and Chicago Jazz Festival and has also  performed with the Berlin Philharmonic orchestra, and at the Glastonbury Festival and even in the Royal Albert Hall in London. 

He is true to the heritage of Jazz and Soul though his musical vocabulary is much more flexible, He feels at home performing Gospel and Rhythm & Blues as well as Funk. Porter crosses borders of music genres and raises a broader interest for Jazz beyond the traditional audience. His live shows are a balanced mixture of interpretations of Gospel and Soul classics, Swing and Funk pieces and Jazz improvisations. His wide oeuvre connected him with artists like the Blue Note AllStars, Jamie Cullum, Lizz Wright, Max Herre, Till Brönner, Dianne Reeves, Renée Fleming, Andreas Varady and the British Electronica duo Disclosure. In his new album, Porter highlights his personal relationship with the great Jazz musician Nat King Cole and transports classics such as “L-O-V-E", "Nature Boy" and "Smile" to the present day. 

Demand is high for tickets to this exclusive performance: Among the guests from business, culture, sports and society were also the musician Robert „Kool“ Bell (from the Disco Funk band “Kool & the Gang“), Flake Lorenz (Keyboarder of the band Rammstein) and Friedrich Lichtenstein,  director Oliver Berben, actors Max von Thun and Sebastian Koch and professional Bundesliga  footballer and member of the German national football team Mario Gómez. Also invited were photographer and Volkswagen culture ambassador Andreas Mühe as well as cellist and intendant of the Dresden Music Festival Jan Vogler, who presented “New Worlds” with Hollywood star Bill Murray at the same event last year, which has gone on to become an international celebrated stage event, including a recording which reached the top of the US Classic Charts.

The Dinner Night 2017 continues with what has begun with Bill Murray, Jan Vogler & Friends last year: It embodies the approach of Volkswagen Company to develop the forum at the boulevard Unter den Linden in the heart of Berlin as an inspiring stage in cultural life.

Once again, the Dinner Night takes place on the evening before the GQ Awards in the Komische Oper Berlin, at which Gregory Porter will be awarded as GQ Man of the Year in the category  “Music International“.

Also there will be a very unique musical event tomorrow, November 9: Gregory Porter and the renowned Dresdner Kreuzchor, which is supported by Volkswagen, will meet at the legendary Hansa Studios to sing together combining Top-notch choir tradition and virtuous Jazz acrobatics to create an ambitious sound experience.
