As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to revolutionize numerous industries, it is becoming increasingly important to understand its impact on intellectual property (IP). In particular Generative AI, which involves using AI algorithms to create new and original works, raises unique and complex legal issues related to IP ownership and infringement. As a result, it is essential for judicial actors, such as judges, public prosecutors, and attorneys, to have a thorough understanding of the relationship between IP and generative AI.

The webinar will cover the perspectives of artists, an introduction to the technical aspects of generative AI, the challenges related to intellectual property, and the importance of judicial actors in handling upcoming IP issues and cases that will arise with generative AI. Through expert discussions, attendees will gain valuable insights into the future of IP in the era of generative AI and the critical role of judicial operators in managing the emerging challenges at the intersection of AI and IP.

This webinar is part of UNESCO’s series of webinars for judicial operators as part of its AI and the Rule of Law Programme.
