This new attack in the United States left 27 people dead. The initial report of the local police indicates that a subject entered the site and shot directly at the parishioners. The gunman was killed in the place of the facts.
At least 27 dead and 24 wounded left a gun battle in a Baptist church in Sutherland Springs, Texas. The massacre happened at the First Baptist Church, 45 kilometers southeast of San Antonio, where there was a strong presence of local police, the FBI and other federal agencies after the events.
Although the local police had not reported the number of deaths, the county commissioner, Wilson Gamez Jr., said there were at least 27 deaths and 24 injuries.
The police reported that the author of the shooting died, although he did not specify the cause of his death. A police detective assured that there was no longer an "active threat" in the temple, where a mass was celebrated at the time of the shooting.
According to one witness, an armed man entered the church and opened fire on those inside.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott condemned the events on his Twitter account: "Our prayers are with all those who were harmed by this evil act, and our thanks to the authorities for their response," he said.
