Toyota Gazoo Racing’s No.7 TS050 HYBRID trio of Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi and José Maria Lopez won today’s sixth round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, the TOTAL 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.
Today’s race saw extremely changeable weather conditions including four safety car sessions due to intermittent rainfall and incidents out on track. After a week of extremely hot temperatures, the rain returned to Spa-Francorchamps where tyre choice played a major factor in today’s action-packed race. Rebellion Racing started on pole but the Swiss team suffered an early setback when Norman Nato lost valuable time due to high tyre pressure issues in the opening stint.

Today’s win for the Toyota Gazoo Racing marks the third win of the season for the No. 7 car (and fourth for the squad) and sees the No. 7 entry extend its lead at the top of the overall leaderboard to 12 points.

United Autosports storms to third consecutive LMP2 victory

British team United Autosports once again ruled supreme in the highly-competitive LMP2 category as its trio of drivers Phil Hanson, Filipe Albuquerque and Paul Di Resta claimed their third successive LMP2 victory in the ORECA 07 – Gibson.

AF Corse finish on top in LMGTE Am

LMGTE Am also provided plenty of action and lead changes but the supremely consistent No.83 AF Corse of François Perrodo, Emmanuel Collard and Nicklas Nielsen claimed victory after a hard six hours of action.
It was a second victory this season for the trio, and the No.83 became the first Ferrari to score multiple Am wins in a season since SMP Racing in 2015. The result stretches their lead at the head of the points table to 110 points, 12 ahead of third place finishers No.90 TF Sport.

Rebellion Racing aiming to return to LMP1 in 2018 with super-strong line up!

2017 LMP2 Champions, Rebellion Racing, are aiming to return to the FIA World Endurance Championship for the Super Season in the LMP1 category, just one year after leaving it.
The Swiss team will apply for entry for two cars which will be in the hands of some well-known WEC faces who combine to form an impressively talented driver line up.
2017 LMP2 Driver Champion Bruno Senna (BR) and Rebellion regular Mathias Beche (CH) return to the team and will be joined by Neel Jani (CH) who started his endurance career with the team nine years ago, and former FIA WEC champion and Le Mans winner André Lotterer (DE).
After making his debut for Rebellion at Petit Le Mans in the USA in October this year, Gustavo Menezes (US) is also announced as part of the crew for the 2018-2019 Super Season. WEC 2017 Rookie of the year Thomas Laurent (FR) will bring his energy and youth to the experienced line up following an amazing first season in the WEC with Jackie Chan DC Racing.
No details have yet been revealed about the cars Rebellion Racing propose to compete with, which will be revealed at the Geneva International Motor Show in March.

Following the second round of the 2017 FIA WEC, here's a roundup of who is leading which points table as the competitors head towards the double-points-scoring 24 Hours of Le Mans.
LMP1 – Toyota takes the lead
Toyota’s success at the WEC 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps last weekend has not only given the Japanese manufacturer the lead in the Manufacturers’ World Championship standings, 8.5 points ahead of Porsche, but also a very positive boost as the team goes forward to the third round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The win for the No.8 Toyota TS050 HYBRID crew of Sébastien Buemi-Anthony Davidson-Kazuki Nakajima means they now have a 17-point lead in the World Endurance Drivers Championship over the No.2 Porsche line up of Brendon Hartley-Timo Bernhard-Earl Bamber. Third in the standings are Porsche’s André Lotterer-Neel Jani-Nick Tandy on 28 points.
